ALL ABOUT ANDREA VELAZQUEZ
Andrea Velazquez is an artist based in Los Angeles, California. She received her B.A. degree in Theatre Arts from CSU Dominguez Hills. She joined the 2Rhythms theatre company in 2022 and is currently the Program Manager and head of their New Project Committee. Most recently, during the summer, Andrea has spent her time at Stanford University where she works as a Program Assistant for the Great Books Summer Program, teaching children of middle and high school ages about monologue workshopping and film/script analysis. She was an Irene Ryan Nominee and Semi-Finalist for the KCACTF (Region VIII) in both 2021 and 2022. Her acting credits include Anna in the Tropics as Ofelia and R&J as Lady Capulet, Mr. Burns: a Post-Electric Play as Jenny/Lisa and Confessions of Women from East L.A. as Calletana/Roxie/Valentina at CSUDH; Good Kids as Madison and Black Butterfly, Jaguar Girl, Pinata Woman and Other Superhero Girls, Like Me as Dolores at LAHC. Her stage managing credits include The Diary of Anne Frank, The Last Five Years and Proof at LA Harbor College; Renovations Dance Concert at CSUDH; Topdog/Underdog, Yellowman, Blu, King James and A Bicycle Country with 2Rhythms; The Pirates of Penzance with The Kaleidoscope Collective. Her directing credits include Black Butterfly, Jaguar Girl, Piñata Woman and Other Superhero Girls, Like Me by Luis Alfaro. Her producing credits include Melanin Monologue Competition 2022 and Melanin Monologue Competition 2023 with 2Rhythms. Other technical credits include Light Designer, Lightboard Operator, Sound Designer, Soundboard Operator and Projections Operator. Andrea wants to continue to grow her skills in both acting and stage managing and will be auditioning and interviewing for graduate schools in January 2025. She hopes to continue learning all that she can about the theatre arts industry!
